Anyone in the UK who has not yet had the opportunity to pre-order the BlackBerry Priv, can order it now at the company’s official online store.
The Canadian Smartphone manufacturers are selling the device for £559(inclusive of VAT). In contrast, Carphone Warehouse is selling the Sans SIM version for £560, while Amazon is offering it at £655.
BlackBerry have been finding it difficult to keep the device in stock at their official store and this was the main reason that the company had to advance the shipping date by a few weeks. However, the back in stock status of Blackberry Priv is an indication that transportation issues have now been fixed.
Priv is BlackBerry’s high-end first Android Smartphone and comes with a high-end price tag too. The device has an appealing slider layout with an option to select between physical keyboard or a touch one. In more ways than one, the success or failure of Priv will determine the course of future for the smartphone keypads and determine the viability of a physical keyboard in a smartphone.
The device features a high quality Corning Gorilla Glass 4 made dual-curved 5.4-inches OLED screen with 2560×1440p screen resolution and 540ppi pixel density. BlackBerry Priv is powered by Snapdragon 808 processor by Qualcomm. The handset also sports 3GB of RAM along with 32GB internal memory which can be conveniently expanded up to 2TB with microSD card.
In terms of camera, the Priv packs in a dual-flash supported 18MP primary snapper and a 2MP front facing camera for selfies.
The device also supports interactive apps including BlackBerry Launcher, Keyboard and camera. In addition Password Keeper will allow its users to save all passwords in BlackBerry’s encrypted and secure folder.
