Launched back in 2009, Taiwanese multinational HTC’s legendry HD2 flagship simply refuses to die out. The handset has received just about every considerable upgrade in one way or the other and a couple of weeks back, it acquired another. The Six-years-old HTC HD2 received a Marshmallow port.
It has been just a year or less that the potent HD2 received Lollipop and now XDA have handled the application of the same with Android’s recent version.
As per macs18max, who is a member of XDA-Developers, the CyanogenMod 13 based HD2 Android port does not feature full functions of Android Marshmallow due to the risk of bugs and other issues. Therefore merely the display, audio and WIFI are accessible for now. There is no update whether the port will be able to use a mobile network anytime soon, however for now, the functionality is not very advantageous.
Earlier, Windows Phone 7, Windows Phone 8, FireFox OS, Windows RT and some of the Android versions including 2.2 Froyo, 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, 2.3 Gingerbread, 4.1-4.3 Jelly Bean and 4.4 KitKat were also ported to the mighty HD2.
Unlike other brands which are still standing in the waiting queue to have their flagships get an Android update, HTC ironically is fast enough to get their device upgraded in just a span of 15 days after Nexus upgrade.
HTC admirers still owning this phone can experiment with the upgrade to give their devices a Marshmallow taste; however it is mandatory to have MAGLDR installed to have it upgraded.
